Description:
This Tutorial will help you make a phpBB3 forum for your website.
(very easy just follow the steps..not a big deal for u)
All the steps are shown below:
Step 1:
Download phpBB from their website, by going to http://www.phpbb.com/ and clicking downloads, or going directly to http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/. Download the version at the top of the page..
Step 2:
Now we uploading phpbb3 files on web server..
there are 2 ways of uploading files on web server..
1) By ur server online File Manager
2) By using FTP client...like so (Filezilla or Smartftp or WinSCP ..etc)
so we use filezilla ..
Download FileZilla from their website (if you don't already have it, if you do have it already continue to the next step), by going to http://filezilla-project.org/ and clicking download client, or go directly to http://filezilla-project.org/download.php and download the client, like so:
Step 3:
After downloading and installing filezilla on ur own pc..
open it.. type the (Host ...., username......., password......., port....)
(All the above information , provided by server ,, when u sign up ,, make a co-domaim.. .. and received via mail .
in the case of purchasing the domain .. the server administrator sent account information ...)
There we use co-doamin...visit..http://www.zymic.com...
sign up ,,login,,, and create a co-domain..like so (http://www.your-url.zzl.org)
when u create co-domain....ftp account information are given on login page..(on the zymic.com online file manager not available,,, u can use others like t35.com or 0fees.net etc)
step 4:
Open FileZilla and log in using the details you just saved, your accounts password and port 21, then click "Quick Connect" like so:
Step 5:
Now once you are connected, create a new folder called "phpbb" (without the quotes) in your root directory (main directory):
Step 6:
The purpose of using ftp client (filezilla)...than onlien file manager....coz phpbb3 have large space.it take much time during uploading phpbb3 files.
Open the folder and upload the smf folders in there by unzipping them and then selecting all the unzipped files and dragging them into the folder:
Now uploading start...it take much time (45-50 mints) due to low speed of uploading..
Step 7:
Now we going to main stepp...
we should create database.... for running forums we should have solid database....
By using phpbb3, the database requirement for phpbb3 are given below...
phpBB3 has a few requirements which must be met before you are able to install and use it.
A webserver or web hosting account running on any major Operating System with support for PHP
A SQL database system, one of:
MySQL 3.23 or above (MySQLi supported)
PostgreSQL 7.3+
SQLite 2.8.2+
Firebird 2.1+
MS SQL Server 2000 or above (directly or via ODBC)
Oracle
PHP 4.3.3+ (>=4.3.3, >4.4.x, >5.x.x, >6.0-dev (compatible)) with support for the database you intend to use.
getimagesize() function need to be enabled.
These optional presence of the following modules within PHP will provide access to additional features, but they are not required.
zlib Compression support
Remote FTP support
XML support
Imagemagick support
GD Support
If your server or hosting account does not meet the requirements above we are afraid phpBB3 is not for you.
so we use zymic co-domain, we create its database..
Once you did that, go back to your site, and click MySQL Database Management:
Step 8:
In there, create a new database called "phpbb" (without the quotes), like so
Step 9:
Then create a new username below that, also called "phpbb" (without the quotes), and with any password:
Step 10:
Now assign priviledges to them below that, MAKE SURE EVERY BOX IS CHECKED, and assign:
Step 11:
chek now filezilla ,,if all the files are completly(100%) uploaded...
open the phpbb folder. In there select all these files:(its just for security purpose)
cache
files
store
config.php
Then right-click, and click File Permissions, then in the text-field type 777:
Step 13:
Go to http://YOURSITE.YOURHOST.com/phpbb/, and click INSTALL:
Step 14:
Click proceed to next step, this is just some info:
Step 15:
In there, again click next (you may see some red text but not everything is required, some functions just won't work):
Step 16:
On the MySQL part, leave the database type alone, at the database server hostname fill in localhost, for the port fill in 21 ,
then for the database name fill in YOURSITE_phpbb and the username must also be YOURSITE_phpbb,
the password should be the one you chose, and you must leave the table prefix alone:
Step 17:
Now the Installer should give you a message saying "Successful connection". Just click "Proceed to next step":
Step 18:
Now you need to fill in your Administrative settings. This is all up to you,
if you're done just click "Proceed to next step":
Step 19:
The Installer should give a message saying "Tests passed", just click Proceed:"
step 20:
The Installer should again give a message saying "The configuration file has been written.
You may now proceed to the next step of the installation.", so Proceed:
Step 21:
Now you should come to a menu where you can enter some advanced settings.
You can leave everything as it is, just change it if you know what you are doing:
Step 22:
Now it should say "The database tables used by phpBB 3.0 have been created and populated with some initial data.
Proceed to the next screen to finish installing phpBB.", just Proceed:
step 23:
now go to the final stage and loin ur administrator control panel(acp)...
when ur installation is finshed...then go to back on filezilla..
from the root directry of domain that is phpbb ..open it.. and delete the subfolder install..
when ur install subfolder is completly fished,,,go to ur site address..
ur webpage (http://www.ursite.urdomain)...will open like beloww
its just example....

(Don't worry, Mr.admin about it..i leave it...but try to more secure it..)
Finished!
You're done! Now just click Login on your forum board index.. and
at the bottom of the page u see ... below the footer statement..
"Administrator Control Panel ".. click here..type ur admin passcode.....
next u will redirect to admin index board...path(http://www.ursite.urdoamin/adm/index.php) ACP..
enjoy your forum!
Important Note ***
Becoze The phpbb3 forum is freee... thus this forum should be hacked easily...by using php sessions..
alll the users information are stored in php seesions ..like (usernames and passwards..etc)
hackers always attack on (.../adm/index.php)...so plz more secure it....
and one more thing, must apply permission on ur site root directry..(e.g 777) ****
